A member of Florence\u2019s political and social elite, he was the son of <strong>Giovanni di Paolo Rucellai<\/strong> (1403\u20131481) and the father of <strong>Giovanni di Bernardo Rucellai<\/strong> (1475\u20131525). Through his marriage to <strong>Nannina de\u2019 Medici<\/strong>, the elder sister of <strong>Lorenzo de\u2019 Medici (Lorenzo the Magnificent)<\/strong>, Bernardo became connected to one of the most powerful families of the Italian Renaissance.
