She was pregnant, and Alfredo, like any loving husband\u2014and skilled host\u2014decided to prepare something nourishing and comforting for her: fresh egg fettuccine tossed with butter and Parmigiano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its simplicity, the dish was so delicious that Ines encouraged him to add it to the menu of his first restaurant in Piazza Rosa, an ancient Roman square that no longer exists. Today, in its place, stands the elegant Galleria Alberto Sordi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
