The walking tour Essential starts every day at 11 am by the BEAR Statue in Puerta del Sol (metro line 1, 2 and 3). Look for our guides with the BEAR logo in the red t-shirt and the big yellow sign (check the map below) REMEMBER! We don’t use umbrellas of any color)
The Tour
Enjoy the 3 hours Madrid free tour, and experience an alternative side of the Spanish capital, going from the big avenues to the city’s landmark, monuments, and historic neighborhoods.
Departing from the central Puerta del Sol, your guide will immerse you in the energetic vibe of the city, describing what the capital was like through the history, and how it turned to be the city that it is today.
As well as history, you will discover the artistic side of the city. Also, you’ll see areas popular for their nightlife, and discover modern architecture. Walk through history, as you learn about the former Moorish empire, Napoleon’s invasion, and the dark side of the holy Spanish inquisition.
There is the possibility to Book two different of Tour one with less then 10 people, and a second tour with more then 10 people.
HOW DOES THE FREE TOUR WORK?
Feel free to tip what you can afford and what you feel the tour was worth. In MADRID TRAVEL, we all have been travelers and we know what is to be in a low budget, so don’t worry in case your trip economy is a little bit tight, with loud applause and your recommendations will be enough. Either way, we’ll have a great time and we hope, you do as well!

No matter the weather conditions, the free tour Madrid runs all year long, well except the 24th, 25th, 31st of december and 1st of january, we also need a break 🙂
After the tour
After the free tour Madrid Essential we normally go all groups together (Spanish group and English group) to have lunch to a nice and local tavern. You are welcome to join us!
